dla renewal was created by Jackmaccoll
Good afternoon I'm looking for advice regarding my sons dla renewal, sent form back guaranteed delivery dwp signed for the form before the claim ended as I've tracked it, got a letter sent back saying that they no longer accept new claims for dla they have sent it to pip to be treated as a pip claim, I contacted dwp to say that the claim was a dla renewal and that I had contacted disability and carers section to verify Tha claim was been treated as a renewal before I had sent it, I was told someone would call me back 3 hours later, I waited 3 weeks no phone call, called the end of last week and was advised on the phone that they ended my sons dla claim even though it was in on time and I have kepted proof of post date and signature its pip ive to contact, surely that's extremely bad practice

You need to contact them again and require a call back.

We have seen this situation where the DLA forms have not been returned on time, but not so far where they have.

You might want to get face to face advice from a trained advisor, you need someone who can act on your behalf when speaking to the DWP, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

I would also involve you MP
