Hi Gordon
I have a question again. Would you know or advise where I can get the answer to my question.
I have spoken to my works pensions department regarding my ill health retirement.
They are sending me out what my pension options are in writing.
They explained one option is I can take a lump sum and take a pension of roughly £100 a week. I know you explained that with regard to my Contribution based ESA support group I would have the deduction because of going over the £85 limit when I get my ill health retirement if it is over the £85. Would you know if I were to take a lump sum would that effect my contribution based ESA. I do not get any other benefits just the ESA.
I may take the lump sum to clear my mortgage and I would still have my pension of roughly £100 a week.
Once I get the information and decide I will let the DWP know. Just wondered if you knew if the lump sum would effect the CB ESA
Many Thanks Linnie

Savings and assets do not effect ESA(CB) so there would be no problem with a lump sum being paid.
I would strongly recommend you get face to face advice from a trained advisor before making any decisions on your pension as this is not a matter that we can offer advice on in the forum.
