PIP Awarded was created by rich47
Finally, after over 10 years and 2 failed attempts of applying for the old DLA I put in application for PIP. After applying I was told it would take 21 - 26 weeks to get a decision, after 4 weeks I had appointment for a medical with Capita. I had to get a friend to drive me to the appointment as there was no guaranteed parking available and I couldn't have walked from the closest available parking. I saw a nurse who seemed to be very pleasant and professional and asked all the relevant questions as to how my condition affected me and how long I had been suffering with it. The medical lasted about an hour and she told me I should hear in 3 - 4 weeks. In actual fact it took 12 weeks but eventually the letter came and I had been awarded standard rate mobility and standard rate daily living, both backdated 16 weeks and awarded for 5 years..
