delaying pip assessment was created by homer
hi, as my date for my pip assessment draws nearer my mental health condition is deteriorating i have just been referred by my gp, back to my cpn, does anybody have any experience with postponing the appointment, do the dwp have any legislation in place that limits the amount of time, if at all, the assessment can be delayed.

thanks

You will only be given two opportunities to attend a PIP assessment, so if this is your first appointment you should be OK to re-arrange it for a later date, however. the two Assessment Providers (APs), in most regions will attempt to re-arrange a new appointment within three weeks of the cancellation. The three weeks is procedural rather than legislative, but there is sufficient flexibility in the actual legislation to allow the DWP to enforce this if they choose.

You need to be aware that a failure to attend either of the appointments will result in your PIP claim being closed and if you are currently receiving DLA, that claim as well.
