PIP Report and Reassessment was created by Orangeblossom
I received my SAR request and have the PIP report which seems to be a very thorough and accurate assessment of the help I need.
When it comes to reassessment I am thinking of using this to help fill in my form, is there any problem doing this? Will the assessors know I've done a SAR request and have the report? Many thanks

Hi Ob,
No, there is nothing to stop you using it at your next reassessment !
No, the Assessors will not be aware that you have obtained it by issuing a SAR to The DWP.

Hi L,
SAR = Subject Access Request !
SARs are used to request your personal information and/or documentation from bodies such as The DWP.
With regards to SARs to The DWP, you can do this using a SAR Form :
SAR Form Download
From this page :
DWP Data Protection Policy
Or you can make the request in the form of a letter, as long as you make it clear that you are making a formal SAR under The Data Protection Act 1998.
Address the envelope : FAO The Data Controller, at the Benefits Office dealing with your benefits.
Write DPA 1998 SAR in front, top, left corner of envelope.
Once received, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
Sending Documents to the DWP.
SARs can also be used to request your Medical/G.P. Records :
Requesting your medical records
Charging for medical records
Some organisations charge a fee, others such as DWP don't !

I did this recently and found them very helpful, they rang to confirm which benefits i wanted info from as i had just said IB and they wanted to check I didn't want PIP and ESA too. Then it came out seperately in special delivery packs over the next few weeks.
