Hello, I am currently being reassessed for ESA and am waiting to be "invited" to claim PIP (on DLA now).
I think I'm under surveillance and just want to know if people making this sort of benefits claim do get watched and followed, I may be being paranoid, but would be grateful to hear if anyone knows anything about this. thanks

Hi t,
Claimants of all benefits can be placed under surveillance if they are suspected of committing benefit fraud in some shape or form.
However, this would not be done as a matter of course and it is not a very common occurance.
I do not want to make you paranoid but the most commonest cause of being put under surveillance is informaton received by the DWP due to someone making a phone call or other communication about you. Such communications are usually malicious. I had it done to me by someone wanting to cause me hassle.
