Please don't tag your posts onto topics from other members especially where the subject is nothing to do with the original post.

You can create your own topic by clicking on the New Topic button.

A home assessment will not be significantly different from the one you had at the Assessment Providers offices. You can choose the room where the interview will be held and you should not change your routine just because you are being assessed and try and have someone with you. Be aware that the assessors are often early.

Hi l,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

It is not advisable to tag your query on to another members topic, I have therefore given your query its own topic !

Many PIP claimants prefer a Home Assessment, and they can be difficult to obtain.

You can choose the room where you want the Assessment to take place, and you can have someone else present to offer you support and take notes if they wish.

The PIP Assessor should not want to look around your Home, although you may want to show them any Aids or Adaptations that you use that may be in another room !

Do not rely on the Assessor being on time, they can tend to turn up early.

You can read what to expect at your Assessment from around Page 69 of our : PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link down the page)

Good luck and please let us know how you got on !
