DLA payments suspended

Hi there, I have been receiving DLA (HRC LRM) for the past nine years.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote to tell them that there has been an improvement in some aspects of my condition, after a change of medication. I asked them to look at my claim again to check that I was on the right rate.

I hadn't heard anything, so I rang today to check they got the letter. They told me that they had received it and that my payments had been suspended while a decision maker looked at my claim.

I was surprised by this as I had thought I would simply be told to apply for PIP, and that my DLA payments would continue until a decision on PIP was made.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Is this the normal procedure when you report an improvement in your condition?

I'm not in Northern Ireland. Do you know if the fact that I reported an improvement means that payments will remain suspended until they make a decision on PIP (if they do invite me to apply for it)? That really wasn't what I expected to happen – not that it makes any difference in a way, as I needed to report the improvement in any case. I'm just a bit worried in case this means I may be without any payment for months.
