PIP Length of Award was created by joydivision
I have just transferred over from DLA to PIP,with DLA I had an indefinite award, with PIP they have awarded me up to 2025,I have progressive MS so will not improve,is the length of PIP award normal to my condition or shorter/longer.
What have other people got with their PIP in terms of length of their PIP award.

Thanks for reading this.

Hi jd,

Good news on The PIP Awards !! :cheer:

10 year PIP awards are fairly rare at this time.

PIP does not have "Indefinite" Awards as DLA did.

The nearest equivalent for PIP is an "Ongoing" award where you are normally reviewed after 10 years anyway.

Hi, have exactly the same as you, progressive MS and got awarded enhanced mobility and care but only for 3vyrs despite the HCP verbally agreeing with me I'll not get any better, but probably worse. Yet she still ticked the box for me to be seen again because I might deteriorate !!!i You've done well getting it for 10 yrs, congrats. There really is no logic in this ongoing fiasco for people, just unnecessary stress.

My congratulations to joydivision of receiving the level of award she clearly warrants. I’m so sorry, Cossack, that you cannot tell a similar story. A progressing disability is tough enough without all this additional stress.

I’ve been looking through the information I’ve collected since the inauguration of PIP for details of the duration levels. I was certain I had something that deal with short fixed term awards; longer fixed term awards, and ongoing awards. I regret that I cannot locate it in my ever-growing files.

Can Bro or any of our other Mods direct me to a link within the B&W site or beyond?

Thanks,

Mari

I might have known it would be in an obvious place or places but things are spread between my PC and box files. Thanks, Bro. :) I'll sure it will be an eye-opener is not a comfort for claimants.
