I had my PIP assessment last Wednesday, 13th Jan and this morning i received a text message from DWP.. The message is We will pay your first Personal independence Payment into the account you gave us within the next 2 weeks. If you don't get this payment within 2 weeks please contact us. Thank you. I haven't had a letter or a call. I was under the impression that they always phoned the claimant to explain the award. has anyone else just had a text ??
Also, any ideas on how long payment usually takes after a decision is made.
I personally haven't heard of text messages before but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. The probability is that you will receive a follow up letter shortly giving you details of your award and the length of time it will be payable.
Calls are made often to explain why an award has not been given, or why an award has not been amended, if a reconsideration has been requested.
Best advice is to wait and see what happens in the next two weeks, and then take it from there. Sorry not to be more helpful.
