Hi,
My wife’s father is 86 years old and living alone in a flat. It has got to a stage that he needs looking after more closely and we have room here. If my father in law comes to live with us will I be affected by the Benefits Cap as I receive DLA middle rate, carers, old age pension, and a small private pension and pension savings credit? My father in law receives attendance allowance, old age pension and a private pension. Will my father in law moving in with us class me as a change of circumstances and put me in the position where I have to apply for P.I.P and will his benefits be affected in any way?

We can't give detailed financial advice on the forum, you need to get face to face advice from a trained advisor, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
Your wife's father should not be considered as part of your household and therefore should have no impact on your benefits but it may effect any Housing Benefit or Council Tax that you receive.
