No and Yes.
You will actually receive Class 1 Credits not Contributions which can be used in part to make a claim for ESA(CB) however the first Contribution Condition (there are two) can only be met with Class 1 or 2 NI Contributions not Credits.
However, there is a relaxation of the first Condition that allows a claimant to satisfy it if they were receiving CA during the last complete tax year immediately preceding the current benefit year. For 2016 this would be April 2014 to April 2015. See Regulation 8.2(a)
