If we phoned them and told them that we have had a change of circumstance and we are fine now (even though we are most defiantly not). Would they just leave us alone to get on with our lives what little life we have left together

I've been on line most of the day and it sounds like it's really abysmal I've nit eaten or drank since we got the letter yesterday our consultants all 3 of them are all on holiday or away at conferences although they have all said sepretly we will be happy to give you a report it doesn't sound like the HP take them in to account ! When we sent in the change of circumstance form we sent it in with a dailysis nurse letter and a friend who's a vet and she has known colin 20 more years

We are so frightened we feel like befit scroungers already ! And that's just having the letter!

We have both independently said what's the point of living if we are going to be treated like we are less than humans like thousands of others we did not choose to have kidney faliure , heart faliure , and calciplhaxisis we did not want to be part of this government benefit system.

Hi C,

Please don't take the comments in my previous post literally !! :)

They were made with my tongue firmly in my cheek and were not intended to deter you from going through the Assessment.

Remember, many thousands or these assessments are carried out weekly and people on the internet only tend to report their bad experiences.

People who don't have any issues do not tend to report it, and as I have already said, we have not received much negative feedback regarding PIP Home Assessments !! :)

After all, what is the worse that they can do at a Home Assessment, they are in your home, "on your patch" ?

Of course, the decision is yours to make, but I would hate to think that my off the cuff remarks meant that you decided not to go through an Assessment that could well end up in a positive decision !!

What I think "personally" is irrelevant !!! :)

You can cancel your PIP Claim any time that you wish, but I would think about this very carefully before doing so !!

Good luck !!

Oh no its not you if anything you have calmed the situation I'm so pleased with all the advice .

Just we are so scared they will take what little they have given us away . I do agree on line was probably not the best place to look .

I've never felt so scared well I have when I was told hubby only had a 30% just of surviving the heart operation !
Can they take it all away ? What if the assessor lies on the form what if even I give them all the consultants reports they don't take notice of them
What if they get offended at having the dailysis nurse there I'm so sorry to be a pain and I do thankyou so much for your support

Hi C,

That's good, because that was certainly not my intention !!! :)

It is totally understandable that you find this whole process distressing and you are not alone with these feelings !!

As I said previously, the assessor can do no harm to you or your husband and hopefully they will take on-board his true limitations fully and compile an accurate report !!

I am sure that they will be aware of your Husband's need for Dialysis, so it should therefore be of no surprise to them if his Dialysis Nurse is present !!! :)

Remember, even though the Assessor compiles the PIP PA4 Medical Report and makes "recommendations", it is The DWP PIP Case Manager (DM) who makes the final "decision" taking into account "ALL" information/evidence before them, not just the PA4.

Try not to worry, I feel that the actual assessment will end up being far less "scary" than the anxiety and worry you are suffering in anticipation of the assessment !! :)

I know you are absolutely right I think anxiety can take such a hold on you well in my case it's true !

You know the hardest thing is we are in this mess because a consultant mucked up on the transplant our youngest daughter gave him.

So like many out there we all have a story to tell a situation we find ourself in through no fault of our own .

But thankyou you have got me through a really difficult day with the advice I'm just waiting to get hold of the daylsis nurse on Monday to chk she can come on Friday I normally do the hemodailsis at home for him 6 days week but I can see a dailysis nurse at home if I need to .
I'm not sure by the time the assessment comes round I'm going to be fit to take all things in and do hubby's dailysis safely . I think I will need the nurse there to make sure I don't cause a serious problem
How on earth did we get to this place where the most vulnerable are left with no dignity .
I'm off to bawl my eyes

Good morning bro58 after not sleeping again (that's the 2nd night of anxiety ) by Friday we are going to be fit for nothing! We have a question as your advice we took a copy of both our forms before we sent them some of the drugs hubby on means he forgets things alot and the rigrious daily diyalsis so will he be allowed to refer to them during his face2face or would that constitute as cheating also he falls asleep alot when on the machine how the heck do o keep him awake ! We normally diyalsis first thing in the morning as that's when hubby feels that's when he needs it im worried if he on the machine and they want him to get up and move around he can't he has two lines that go in to his jugular vein then across and directly in to his heart hubby couldn't have a fistula if he were to try and get up on the machine and he fell it could kill him ! Then they may fail him because he can't get up and move about and they want to check his mobility I know this all sounds very dramatic but belive me it's not this is our life or what is left of it ! I'm sure there are mor people out there worse than us but right now this is our living nightmare and we have never felt more alone I now know how people can get to the end of their rope and take drastic decisions on their life
