Hi Guys,
Just wanted to share a very strange happening, a couple of months ago I had my ESA medical with MXIMUS, at their Glasgow Center and was found pretty fit, despite Ostio arthritis COPD, Diabetes and a couple of other issues so back to JSA for now.
Early in March I had my medical for PIP with ATOS at home, had my sister with me for support, the guy was an ex paramedic, quite a jolly chap, went through everything, few little exams of joints, knees, and as I was breathless answering the door 20 feet away seemed to help as did having my various aides I think!!.
Today I received the dreded brown envelope through the door, sat down opened it and what a shock I got, having been on basic P.I.P. for a year or so, I am now getting the enhanced rate for daily living and the addition of enhanced rate for mobility for the foreseeable future, might be they realised my lungs are never going to get better, phoned my sister who was also completely surprised and said now I can have a holiday. WOW what a turn up, happy days for now till we sort out the ESA.
Regards
Peter

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Peter and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Thanks for telling us your good news! It sounds as if the PIP assessor did a good job on your behalf.
Where are you in the ESA process?

Just waiting to loge the appeal for the EAS but not holding out too much hope will see how it goes, doing it through the social worker, which has worked well for me in the past

The success rate at appeal is far higher than the revision rate at MR.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
