ESA and PIP in Retirement was created by g7ivp
My wife currently receives ESA (Support Group) and PIP (Daily Living & Mobility componants).

What will happen to these benefits when she reaches State Retirement Age? Will they just stop, leaving us to claim something else, will she be transferred onto something else or will they continue to be paid?

Given the struggle we had getting the existing benefits we don't relish another set of battles.

Thanks in anticipation.

The ESA will stop at SRA whether she takes her State Pension or not.

The PIP will continue as long as she continues to meet the criteria for an award.

Depending on your circumstances she may be eligible to claim Pension Credit when she retires. See
