Is there an online PIP form that can be filled in instead of the paper copy ?

No, I'm afraid there is no down-loadable copy of the PIP form. Every form is marked with a unique bar-code that identifies the claimant, so it is important to return the one you were sent.

If it is easier for you, you can type all of your answers as a word document, clearly indicating which question you are answering. Then, all you will have to write on the form is 'See p7 of additional information' etc. You should put your name and NINo at the top of each page and, at the bottom, mark them '1 of 20' etc as this will show if any pages are missing.
