convalescence care fees

My mother is in receipt of AA, pension credit and housing benefit,she is having her hip replaced and she is going to stay in a convalescent/respite care home after the op,can she claim any of the fees for this.

I'm afraid I don't know of any way that these fees can be reclaimed. The best I can offer is to say that, as the state is not providing the convalescence, your mother should be able to keep her AA. You should still notify DWP of her hospital admission.
