My PIP application has to be on Friday 9th September 2016 at the latest. It is a mad rush completing it and is causing me huge anxiety to do so.

Regardless, I am trying to give myself a fighting chance to be successful. I have a two-month old GP letter that was composed in support of my ESA application and I will be sending this along with my PIP form.

Is it within my interests to send other medical letters from two GP's also - some spanning up to five years ago - as these clearly show I have long-term issues (my PIP application will be mostly centred around my mental health and how this adversely effects my day-to-day life) or is this not appropriate?

Does the DWP only require up-to-date medical evidence? I do not wish to put myself at a disadvantage if I can help it.

Any medical evidence that you have is worth sending, the worst that they can do is ignore it and hopefully it will make a difference to the assessment.

However, it is important that you integrate the reports into your responses in the PIP2 form for it to have real value, don't allow the assessor to make their own assumptions about what they mean.
