Local service compliance telephone interview was created by Jimmy
Hi
Just received a Local Service Compliance Telephone Interview letter from DWP arranging a telephone interview. They have stated that what I need to be able to refer to during the interview are bank statements, earnings, savings, etc. All financial.
I receive ESA, DLA and a disability pension together with a small works pension, which is taxed.
As non of my benefits are income related, does anyone have an idea as to why they would be asking for this information.
I am due for an ESA review and wonder if there is some connection.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Even if you are only receiving Contribution Based ESA, pension income can affect your payments!
Have you declared the pensions to the DWP?
DLA is not affected by any income or savings.

Yes. My pension is taxed. Pension and ESA are added together and my tax is then taken out of my pension. DWP are aware of my pension as they informed the Inland Revenue who subsequently calculated my tax.

I'm sorry but have you specifically informed the DWP that you are receiving these pensions? The DWP will have notified HMRC that you are receiving ESA(CB), they would not have notified HMRC about your pensions even if they were aware of them.

Thanks Gordon. Will have to check. If my ESA CB is reduced then at least my overall tax liability should fall.

Hi
Having done some research it appears that because my claim was prior to 6th April 2001 and I was on Incapacity Benefit the linking rules apply and my pension is exempt from the £85 rule.
Wondered if anyone has any experience on this.
