ESA contacting health professionals was created by laura.dorans
I received my ESA forms yesterday to do filled in, and I was hoping I would be on ESA for life as it didn't give me a date when I would need to reapply but no the forms came yesterday.
when it says to give them the name of consultants and health professionals do you have to be seeing them currently? does it have to be within a certain time frame? I obviously wouldn't go back more than 12 months. do you have to of seen them a certain amount of times and do u have to contact them first before putting there details down?

Although ESA is an indefinite award we would not expect a claimant to go more than three years without a reassessment and many claims are looked at this more frequently.
If you are not on a Consultant's list then I would not expect them to provide support for your claim, even if you are they may still not.
In reality the DWP rarely contact a claimants doctors and consultants so if you are able to we would recommend your sourcing your own reports and letters to support your claim, that way you can decide whether the content is helpful and you can also integrate it into your answers on the ESA50.
