ESA Health Assessment appointment was created by mark
I now realise I have stupidly filled in the ESA 50 without consulting the help pages for members and now have been sent an appointment. The doctor I am under who I never see, has written false information on the reply to ESA so now, I'm stuffed.
The doctor that I do see is willing to help write a counter letter clarifying my condition but I'm looking for the relevant descriptors spoken about, in the member pages, and am confused.
Can anyone point or write in reply which descriptors I will need to help me gain a home visit for ESA.
I just had the PIP home visit, but ESA are being more of a challenge.
I am 37 years agoraphobic, have PTSD due to diagnosed cardiac arrests from age 9 which were finally picked up by a psychiatrist who actually listened rather than just pumping more pills out at 40 years old.
The pacemaker was installed then not turned on properly for a further 13 years until the specialist realised his mistake.
I never went back, but have a remote tester at home now.
I am severely depressed, with belts of suicidal thoughts. I have not been able to attend these appointments since a breakdown in 2001, and a further total breakdown in 2014 when the DWP decided to stop my award for 11 months leaving us in need of selling the house, which we managed to do.
Any help gratefully received, the appointment is 1 December and I have to email doctor with details so he can then fax it back within sufficient time to allow them to look at it again.
Many thanks

Hi Mark and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
You do not need to worry about the descriptors i order to request a home visit. What you do need is for your GP to write explaining why you are unable to attend an assessment centre. I must warn you that it can be very difficult to get a home visit, especially if you leave your home to attend medical appointments.
It will help if you understand the ESA descriptors when you actually come to be assessed
Qualifying for the WRAG
Qualifying for the Support Group
May I suggest that you favourite/bookmark this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep all messages relating to the same subject in one topic as it makes our 'job' much easier - and I hope you will find it useful too

Thanks for the reply,
I can't seem to access the links, even though I'm a member. I can initially use link but details won't come up?
I'm trying to access the "Qualifying for the Support Group"
I am also suffering with hypertension with 237/134 BP that is being brought down via drugs sometimes, but is stress reactive. It's taken 5 years so far. and a lot of side effects, including confusion on top of the anxiety/depression confusion
I saw a specialist at CAB who has been made redundant now due to cuts, but she was preparing a case for support group, unfortunately I have no access to those papers.
