A few weeks ago I received a date and time for an assessment but last week I received a letter to say it had been cancelled. No reason but I was told to phone the Jobcentre Plus which deals with my claim to ask. I can't find any documentation telling me which number I need to phone so I phoned the number on the letter from Capita to find out. After ten minutes on hold I gave up. Does this mean I will be sent another appointment or that they have decided to continue to pay my benefits without an assessment?
Capita do provide services to the DWP for ESA, only PIP assessments, so if the letter is from Capita then you need to contact them to find out what the they are talking about?
You can contact the DWP on
ESA: 0345 608 8545 Press Option 3 for ESA. (Open 8AM-6PM. Mon-Fri.)

There are two options - either the assessment has been postponed and you will be sent another appointment
or
The assessor has enough information to make a recommendation to DWP without you needing to be seen.
I'm afraid you will only know which of these is the case by contacting Maximus (HAAS) or you can wait and see.
