They should extend your DLA by another year. The legislation covering invitations to claim PIP requires your DLA to remain in payment for a further 4 weeks after a Decision on your PIP is made.

that reply has threw me slightly. i will put it another way; like i have said earlier in this thread i got my pip decision , standard rate on both activities which starts on the 29/12/16 i was slightly dissappointed so sent a mr letter in, which they have received 07/12/16. my question is ; do they have to give me a decision before my pip begins ? hope you follow me. sorry to puzzle you gordon

Sorry, doing several other things at the moment and didn't look back on your previous posts :blush: ignore what I said.

I'm afraid there is no timescale for an MR to be completed in, most are at least 5 weeks, they do not have to give a new Decision before your DLA ends as it will end whatever the long term Decision on your PIP is.

the reason i ask is because i will be moving into a new disabled flat in the middle of january. i will have to phone them early january to make them aware. thanks gordon

hi i was wondering if could cancel a mr letter i have sent because of all the stress and anxiety i am under waiting. my carer rang pip today 06/01 for me to ask if a decision had been made and they said there was a big backlog and there was no timescale i just wished i hadnt bothered now. but at the time i wasnt happy

Write to the office that you sent the MR request to asking them to cancel it. I would send it using a signed for post so that you have a record of it being received.
