I've just got off the phone with local JobCentre concerning a letter I've had from them, about a 'referral for an opportunity:Ben Cap Info Group Session'. Despite the fact that I've told the staff many times that I attend a clinic on Weds & Fridays, they continually ask to see me on those days. That aside, I wanted to know more about this 'opportunity' ~ the answers were vague, in that it might be a computer training course, or some other employer offer. Whatever it may or may not be, if I didn't attend I would be marked down as 'not helping myself' ~ what does that mean? I said it sounded like emotional blackmail & made sure I made a laughing noise, in case I was marked down for being difficult & resistant. I shall comply, but I can't help wondering whether I still live in a 'free' society...
