Requesting a different Assessor ? was created by AloneOnESA
Is there any way a claimant can request to be assessed by a different Assessor than on previous assessments? Or perhaps at a different centre if there is one?

I had the same Assessor at my last assessment as I did the assessment before that.

Does it not make some sense that one is better off with an assessor who has not assessed you before?
Simply with regard to human nature I believe that one would receive a more objective assessment from an assessor who is seeing one for the first time.

I believe that if an assessor has seen you before then, if only subconsciously, they are to a greater or lesser degree biased towards drawing the same conclusions as they did the previous time. Even if they do not actively remember you, they will get a sense of the previous assessments as the dialogue progresses.

I am wondering if anyone has ever requested a different Assessor? or assessment venue?

There is no formal process for this although if you had made a formal complaint about an assessor I would think that it would be a reasonable adjustment for you to have a different assessor, all you can do is contact the assessment centre and ask. Be careful that your request is not treated as a request for the appointment to be re-scheduled.
