I've been told by Atos that my assessment will be done at home, my condition has deteriorated recently so I had to contact them and give evidence of recent hospital admissions etc. Is there any advice you could give me and family. Thanks
The assessment will be very similar to one held anywhere else. What to expect is explained in the PIP guide.
It is up to you in which room the assessment is held and who you have with you.
You do not have to make any special preparations - you don't even have to get out of bed if you would not usually do so at that time of day.
The assessor has the same rights as any other visitor to your home. They do not have the right to 'snoop' around your home - nor have we heard of anyone asking to do so.
The assessor could arrive on time, early, late - or not at all!
