Legal Framework for PIP MR Deadlines - Urgent

I need to know the Legal Framework of deadlines please. I received my
letter on 21st Dec, I Phoned on 10th Jan to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, (and followed up by letter). I was granted 3 weeks. I have today been told that my paperwork should have been in by today. Surely the 3 weeks should be from the 21st January and not from wh n the phone call was made?...
As this cuts weeks into my time.
Thank you

I'm not sure that this is covered in the legislation, timescales for requesting an MR are, but accepting additional information is at the discretion of the DWP, I would have expected them to have given you four weeks from 10 January, when you made the request. It certainly would not have been from the 21st.
