Would it be prudent to request a copy of the HCP report for my records even with a satisfacory award ?
How long would the DWP hold the report after making the award ?

Yes, it can be helpful to have a copy of the assessor's report as it can useful when it comes to renewal.#

I can't say exactly how long DWP keep your records on-site but they certainly will be there for several months.
