pip written appeal succsess? was created by soxie
Has anyone been successful with a written appeal I have been given a tribunal venue 60 miles away so I just cannot get there. They say there is nowhere nearer so I am wondering if anyone has submitted a written appeal and can they give me some pointers........

We have had members win with a Paper appeal. Hopefully members will reply with more detail.

Could you ask about having a phone appeal hearing?
I lost my first written appeal (which was then set aside because of an error in law), then I had a second telephone hearing- because I couldn't get there- I was on speakerphone to the tribunal and they asked me questions etc. I won that appeal .

My wifes ESA appeal back in 2013was an Oral hearing but only lasted about 15 minutes.
I had produced a very detailed submission showing how Wife met the Descriptors for the Support Group and also demolished the DWP submission on points of law.
We recieved a typed decision putting wife in Support Group from Nil Points in about TWO minutes after the hearing so I got the impression that the FtF had already more or less decided the appeal on the papers and only needed to see my wife to confirm their decision.

I did a written appeal with an appeal submission (used the guide on here) and it was reinstated. However this was because they declined me at reassessment not on the initial application. I did have quite a lot of medical evidence, care plan and letters though which i think helped.

I want to go but as it's so far away I can't, I phoned the venue and was told no lift, no parking only a pay car park 500 metres away it is over an hours journey I can't sit in the car for that long and certainly can't walk 500 metres.
