The Assessment Provider for your postcode will decide whether you need a face to face assessment and if this is the case contact you with an appointment.
If not then they will carry out an assessment on the paperwork that they have available and make a recommendation to the DWP.

If you would normally use the chair when out, then I would use if for the assessment, but I would check that the venue is wheelchair accessible, not all the centres are and some have the assessment rooms on upper floors which create a health and safety issue.
