If I don't do this I'm not even sure I will attend. I won't have anyone with my as I feel embarrassed and ashamed of my illness s
Could you talk to your GP, they may be able to prescribe something for the day that would help with your anxiety.

If the choice is between having a few drinks or not attending, the former would seem to be the better option. You should be aware that the assessor is likely to notice and draw conclusions so you should think about ways you might be able to mitigate this.

frankie67 wrote: Another concern has popped in to my head , iv stopped driving about 5 months now however I'm still down on the insurance for driving my ex wife's mobility car . I think iv driven it once at around xmas time, I'd prefer to stay on it in case it's an emergency or I start to feel better in the future . Can pip or will pip check up to see if I'm a registered driver for her mobility car?
Hi f67,
It is highly unlikely that PIP DWP or ATOS/Capita would be able to access your personal information with an Insurer.
However, people should be aware that people's Facebook accounts have been viewed and information on accessible pages has been used against them.
They will probably ask you whether you can drive at your assessment, and your response could be used in an adverse way.
So, if you can drive, but have not done so for 5 months, and don't have your own car, make that clear to them explaining how your limitations preclude you from doing so.
Remember, you should be assessed on whether you can do things Reliably and Safely for The Majority of Days
As an example, I learnt to ride a bike when I was around 7 years old, however I haven't ridden a bike for many, many years, not because I don't own one, or I don't want to, simply because my limitations preclude me from doing so.
You can read what to expect at your PIP face to face near the end of our : PIP Claims Guide (2nd Link down the page.
