PIP Appeal was created by rubytaylor
Hi All,
First time posting on here, I have had my date for my appeal for PIP and was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice.
I was on DLA at the higher rate of care and the lower rate of mobility, but after being told I had to claim PIP and attending an assessment centre, I was awarded 0 points.
I am Epileptic diagnosed in childhood and currently have 7-12 grand mal seizures a week.
Many thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

An appeal resets the playing field so to speak and the Tribunal panel will look at everything with unbiased eyes, so you have an opportunity to explain your problems in more detail and to correct the assumptions made by the DWP when they made their original Decision.
Have a look at the following News Item which concerns a recent Upper Tier Tribunal Decision that may be relevant you.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/3611-safe...-many-more-claimants
The PIP Claim guide has been updated with more information about this on pages 16-18 and 56.
Any submission that you make must be with the Tribunal Service no later than seven days before the hearing.
