Hello,

I have just had a letter from Capita saying I will get a home visit for my DLA to PIP assessment. Can anybody tell me what happens during these visits. For example do they check round the house.
I know they will ask questions etc. I just want to know what they can and can't do during their visit.

A home assessment is not significantly different from one held at the Assessment Providers offices.

There is a section at the back of the PIP Claim guide that covers the assessment and the questions that you will be asked.

You can decide where to hold the assessment and the assessor has no more right than any other visitor to your house to look around.

Even though it is at home I would still recommend that you have someone with you.
