PIP Home Visit - Assessment was created by ferensway
My partner has been given a home visit assessment despite not asking for one.
1. Is the assessor allowed to look around the house? We get the feeling that they have come to check up on things as much as doing the assessment. (We have nothing to hide but dislike the possible "snooping" and would like to know what "powers" they have to look around.)
2. Is this home assessment the same that would take place at the assessment centre?
3. Why would they allocate a home visit assessment without being asked?
4. Is their any information anywhere on home visits / assessments as I cannot see any information in the main PIP Guideline document (v23 23 Sept 2016).

1. They have no more right than anybody else to look around your home. most assessors don't ask but apparently some do, it's you decision whether you allow it or not.
2. There are no substantial differences between a home assessment and on in the Assessment Providers office
3. It's an acceptance that your partners conditions would limit their ability to attend at the AP's offices.
4. What happens at a face to face medical assessment page 72!
