We have seen a marked slowdown in the assessment process so I am not surprised to hear that you are still waiting.
There's no harm in you chasing the DWP but they are unlikely to have much information as it will be the Assessment Provider for your postcode that is managing this stage of the process so it would make more sense to contact them.
