Transfer from DLA to PIP payments query was created by Alf Tupper
My wife was recently transferred from DLA to PIP
We are not entirely sure if the last DLA and subsequent initial PIP payment were correct. We have a motability car so the figures illustrated are usual for us.
When she received her final DLA payment in June, it appeared that the amount received was short. This affected our budgeting as we had not been warned that this would happen.
Similarly, when she received her first PIP payment on 7th July, again, it appeared to be short and caused more concern.
We have reviewed our bank statement and determined the occurrence of the following payments:
19 April 17 £330.80 (usual)
17 May 17 £332.40 (April increase)
13 June 17 £249.30
7 July 17 £273.04
The gap between payments:
April to May = 28 days
May to June = 27 days
June to July = 23 days.
We usually budget for about £330 every four weeks but as can be seen, the last two payments have been somewhat different and I would ask if anybody has a similar experience and if it is 'correct'.
We have written to the PIP unit and await their response.
Thanks
Mark

The first, second and fourth payments all have the same daily rate (£11.87), subject to the annual increase covering; 28 days, 28 days and 23 days..
DLA is normally paid four weeks in arrears, but we are aware that some claimants appear to have been paid three weeks in arrears and one week in advance. The third amount appears to be consistent with this and is a payment for 21 days DLA.

Have a look at the decision letter. It will have details of first PIP payment, amount and date and also if there is a change over payment which is sometimes made
