My husband has an appeal date after the first was adjourned due to dwp not having any evidence from GP surgery. We now have another date but unlike the first hearing which was paper hearing this one is classed as hearing in absence. I am not sure what this means and don't know if as his representative I would still be allowed to attend. Any advice would be appreciated.
I am guessing that it was recommended that the claimant attend and they have declined. You may be able to attend on their behalf but you need the permission of the Judge to do so, write to the Clerk of the Court at the venue.
