You say that you were awarded ESA earlier this year, were you placed in a group?
The DWP can reassess you at any time after 3 months have elapsed from a previous Decision so it's not impossible that this is happening, have you received a new ESA50?
If in doubt, the only way to understand what is going on is for you to contact the DWP for an explanation
