A friend of mine applied for PIP for the first time 3 weeks ago. Today she had an f2f at home. The HCP was on time and very professional as well as being sympathetic to my friends situation. I was there to support my friend as she has difficulty engaging with strangers. The HCP understood this and allowed , even welcomed my input and prompting. The HCP didn't ask for any physical tests to be done as my friend lay on the settee all the time. Having completed her assessment the HCP offered some advice "off the record " about things we hadn't thought of, suggesting she gets a new assessment from OT to get help with mobility. Although there is no telling what sort of report the HCP will actually submit, we will find out as have already sent a letter requesting it. I have to say that the whole thing was a positive experience. I wanted to post this to let people know that not all assessments turn out to be horror stories, There are some very nice assessors out there. I will up date as to the result when we know the outcome
Thanks as always to hard work and patience of the mods here especially Gordon and mrs H
