I have been following this site on and off for quite a few months. Appeal hearing is 21st September. Going with an open mind and (very) low expectations; however in the event the DWP decision is overturned, what actually happens? I'd like to know. What remit does the panel have - to order review, make an award? I have read that you might be informed on the day. If I do get anything, should I ask (saw something on this forum) that the panel be asked to make clear it should be backdated to the date of the application?
The appeal panel re-makes the original Decision and ant award will apply from the date of the original Decision unless there are reasons why it should not.
Claimants are usually notified on the day of the Decision but if the panel have a full dairy then you might receive the Decision Notice in the post.
It normally takes the DWP 5-8 weeks to process a Tribunal Decision.
