Just looking clarification on something I read. In November 2017 was there a change regarding people with mental health problems not automatically having to attend a f2f if the claimant can provide evidence from GP etc that claim can be decided on the evidence supplied in the claim form?
There have been no changes to the guidance in this area.
Claimants need to provide compelling evidence from their GP for a Paper Based Review to be done, first the Assessment Provider must have sufficient information to make a recommendation to the DWP and secondly they must be convinced that a face to face appointment would cause unreasonable physical or mental harm to the claimant.

My GP surgery called to say a doctor would be calling tomorrow regarding my PIP claim. I assume it’s a report from Capita.
Do you know what questions the doctor will ask me?

It will depend on what Capita have asked them, all I can say is that it will be about your problems completing the PIP activities.

I’ve only seen locums.
Normally any DLA reports were completed by the doctor without contacting me.
I shall wait and see what tomorrow brings

Just an update. Saw GP and she wrote a letter confirming physical problems. Used severe and chronic to describe pain. Mentioned my mental health as well.
MP’s office emailing letter to PIP.
Now waiting to see if f2f required

MP’s office contacted me to say that Capita are going to do a home visit. They accept that I would have issues attending their offices.
Is that a positive thing? I didn’t request a home visit.
When completing the PIP form the answers were typed on separate sheets. Is it ok to have these sheets in front of me during the “medical” as I don’t want to get confused?
It goes to prove that even a letter from a doctor means nothing to these people
