I know from my experience that council tax support is given to low incomes on PIP/DLA, you get more support if you receive enhanced PIP awards but you have to pay a minimum of £3.50 a week towards your council tax irregardless of how low your income is in our area.

I'm afraid if you are not prepared to use your local Welfare Rights resources then all I can suggest is that you contact the Local Authority again.

I'm afraid we do not provide support for Housing Benefit on the forum.

Yes- Contacting my Local Authority for them to outline their legislation was the conclusion of my last post and that if I find out anything useful directly relating Council Tax Support to PIP I would let forum members know.

Also I mentioned it would be worth adding the non residential overnight carers award to the guide on those who qualify for PIP as they would potentially qualify for more HB/LHA via an extra room being paid for their carer. This has been invaluable for me.

Will do Gordon. The extra room included in my HB for my night time carer was extremely difficult to find out about but equally extremely useful when I received it. It was a direct result of achieving higher rate care DLA/ enhanced daily living PIP so is relevant to B and W members.
