Is the PIP award review a chance to challenge the medical assessment and the points awarded in the original decision? I was awarded PIP enhanced rate for both components in 2015, but have felt medical report was unfair and points don't reflect my condition.
Due to health deterioration I was unable to challenge the assessment at the time, .Is it worth referring to the original decision and medical report now and go through points where I feel it was wrong? Or is better to focus on how I am at present?
There were several things in the assessment that were incorrect assumptions and just ignored information given .Is the medical assessment taken into account now as evidence?
Worried whether to tick no change or worse if I told them about something before and it wasn't fully taken into account.
I'm afraid there is no opportunity for you to revisit the previous Decision via the AR1 review form. this is a reassessment of your claim based on how you are now but using your previous assessment as a bench mark, so your options are;
- your problems are the same as they were assessed last time - they are worse - they are better
If you are saying that they are worse now then you also need to provide details of the deterioration and evidence to support it if you can.
The PIP Claim guide explains the potential issues presented by the Review form.
