PIP Medical Advice Please

PIP Medical Advice Please was created by maverick_spirit
My Medical is early next week. I'm reading through my PIP2 form as prep and there are parts where I think I could have explained my difficulties more clearly that might help me - Is it acceptable to hand the assessor additional clarifying information on the day?

Also - with Communicating Verbally, does the support need to be from a professional in order to score points for support (there seems to be conflicting views on this on various benefits websites - my mental health can cause me to experience verbal communication difficulties)?

Many thanks

Yes you can take additional evidence on the day, ask the assessor to read it and include it in your file before they start the interview.

Communications Support does not have to be provided by a professional, it could be a relative, but it must be clear that is being provided AND required in the first place.

Many thanks for the advice about additional evidence Gordon.

Thanks too for the advice on comunication support - sadly, I've completely misunderstood the qualifying conditions. Based on this, in the additional evidence that I take on the day can I ask to withdraw that part of my claim?

Yes, just tell the assessor that you misunderstood the activity.
