Just shedding some light on the issue of the Housing Benefit NIL income matter I mentioned elsewhere, for anyone like me who might need it to dispute suspicious statements from their local council :
Section 130(1)(c)(i) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 makes it plain that a claimant is entitled to maximum Housing Benefit if “...he has no income or his income does not exceed the applicable amount…'
There is NOTHING there about any time limits. I will mention the above in response to a letter from my local council that I have always found suspicious. I will actually ask for compensation as I have wasted months looking for something that they suggested, that doesn't exists at all.

I have read that ESA with the work component lasts for only 365 days. Does that mean that the DWP can just end it? Or do they ask you to attend another medical test?

Contribution Based ESA is only payable for 365 days when the claimant is not in the Support Group, there is no restriction on Income Related ESA. Payments stop at the end of the 365 days, this may coincide with a reassessment of the claim but one is not required at the end ot the 365 days.

Have you had any experience with the Ombudsman's website? The site says "use the complaint checker", then if you click on "UK government, etc" or NHS, the dumb thing just sits in there and there goes nothing.
