Hi. There is a topic on forum from 2014. That's says ESA medicals are being used for PIP applications. Dies anyone know if this is still the case. I recently (6weeks ago) had ESA medical and got put in support group. I've never speed for dla or pip before because I've always been scared of failing and getting kicked off ESA...but having had a new medical and still remain in Support group, it mashes me feel a bit more confident. But I don't know if I put myself through another medical so soon. I was hoping that as my ESA medical was so recent that might use that?
An ESA assessment cannot substitute for a PIP assessment, the criteria for the two benefits is too different! However, the report from an ESA assessment may be used in conjunction with the report from a PIP assessment to help make a Decision on someone's claim.
