Hello to everyone, I am new to the site and to the benefit system. I am 62 and worked right up to 2014. I have been on ESA since 2015 and PIP since 2016. Can someone tell me why some go for a medical yearly like me and some go every 2/3 or more years? I was bed ridden for my last medical and my doctor wrote them a letter telling them that he has advised them that I should not attend in my condition which they accepted and said that I would receive a home visit, this was back in June and I have still not had the visit. I did live in the USA from 2009 to 2014. Is it because I’m new to the benefit system?
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it? Reassessment periods are recommended by the assessor. I'm afraid I can't offer a reason why yours are different from anybody else's but it's not because you are a new claimant or spent time outside of the country, the recommendation should be based on the likelihood of your conditions and how they effect you changing.
