I have just received the brown envelope with the forms to apply for renewal of PIPit seems to have come earlier than I expected it! They want my forms back by 12th January so I will now spend Christmas worrying! I am waiting to see an orthopaedic surgeon but it will not be before 12th and I have no new evidence to send in the meantime. My GP has just retired should I just fill the form in as “no change” ? Should I phone them up? I don’t know what to do. Is it better to try and get another face to face interview or do I have a chance of it being renewed just by filling the forms in? Any advice would be a massive help. I feel quite sick!
I can't tell you whether to tick "no change" or not that's a decision that you have to make, but if you do indicate a change then you need to document in detail how you are now effected. Our PIP Claim guide explains the issues in completing the AR1 form.
If you are struggling to complete and return the form then you should be able to request a two week extension.
Ticking no change for everything I'm afraid is no guarantee of your avoiding a face to face assessment.
What kind of relationship do you have with your new GP? It might be worth your speaking to them as soon as you can to see what support they might provide.
You can always re-send the evidence that you did originally if it is still applicable to your current limitations.
