DLA to PIP refusal was created by grahame charman
hi, just wanted to tell about a situation we find ourselves in at the present time concerning DLA to PIP, I am acting for my foster son who has been on DLA since a young child, he has ADHD and , LEARNING difficulties also speech and hearing impediments, the DWP sent out a form to claim PIP instead of DLA, which was duly filled in and along with supporting evidence posted back, 12ve days before time limit, well today I received a letter stating PIP has been refused because information they asked for has not been supplied , when I phoned to query this letter I was informed they had not received the PIP form back, and so all DLA will end next week, I now have to resend copies of the form and evidence , (good job I did make copies) and then ask for a reconsideration of verdict. so now we are left without the money that helps keep my ;son; and have to wait for God KNOWS WHO to decide that someone can be changed from disabled to able and capable by the magic of a letter . don't know how this will end , but just be warned, send your forms back by registered letter, I wish I had done so.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Unless you can show the form was returned in time, which your post suggests that you can't then there may be nothing you can do.
The DWP will start a new claim for PIP as soon as they have received the copy of the PIP2 but his DLA will only be reinstated by showing the original was received by the DWP.
If you want to challenge it then you need to request an MR but be prepared to go on to appeal, based on what we have seen in the forum I think it very likely that the DWP will reverse their Decision.
