PIP application and Cerybral Palsy

my step son has suffered from cerebral palsy from birth has always been in a wheelchair. He has learning difficulties and limited upper body movement and function. This was put on the application form.

the response was that he had to have an assessment at home. when you see my son his disability is obvious to anyone. the man came out and humiliated my son. He went through the form trying to catch him out on silly points. for example he can't stand up straight or in aided so they made him try. They questioned him to try and make out he wasn't disabled. The whole process was humiliating and in necessary. I appreciate they may want to verify a claim but this went to far. Now we have a long wait. All the assessor would say is you have a right to a copy of what I write.

You can complain but it might be worth your seeing what their recommendation is before you do.

You can request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with his claim.
